#WellnessMaker

What is a Wellness Maker? How do you know if you are one?

A Wellness Maker is someone that actively seeks a healthier, holistic wellness by taking an active role in their mental, physical and environmental health.

A Wellness Maker creates, crafts, and grows.

A Wellness Maker enjoys personally creating everything that goes in, on and around our bodies, because that’s how we know exactly what it contains.

A Wellness Maker examines details and chooses the healthier way.

What is wellness, anyway?

Wellness can have different meanings for different people. It is a general sense of health and wellbeing across the range of human experiences: mental, spiritual, physical and environmental.

Wellness is not a final state you achieve. Wellness is an ongoing state, anchored in the present.

Think of wellness as a process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. Wellness is not just not being sick;  it is a dynamic process of change and growth.

A Wellness Maker pursues all the different paths to wellness with their hand on the wheel.

The pursuit of wellness can be enjoyable and instill your life with meaning.

Why #WellnessMaker?

There are many different reasons someone might want to be a wellness maker.  Some people are just proactive when it comes to their health. Others have seen the effects it can have in friends or family members. Every story is different.

We began our wellness making journey by following our gut—literally. We lived firsthand the healthful effects of changing our diets to incorporate fermented foods. Watching our health improve based on what we chose to put into our body was an incredible motivation for change.  This inspired us to take the change a step further.

We wondered: what would happen if we began to carefully inspect not just certain parts of our diet, but…everything? From the products we use to clean our house to the clothes we wear to what we wash them with? This led us to see how many ways it is possible to live a cleaner, healthier life, free of chemicals in industrial products.

However, we also lived the learning curve firsthand. Becoming a #WellnessMaker is not something you do overnight. It’s a process, both of learning and of doing. A small step here, a small step there, and before you know it, you’re living a healthier life.
